This achievement is particularly significant as it marks the first time the HSE has ever awarded a formal tender for pressure care mattresses. In a rigorous and competitive process, Beechfield Healthcare’s submission was ranked highest for technical merit, a powerful endorsement of the quality, innovation, and value we provide.

A critical part of a patient’s successful rehabilitation after a hospital stay is the quality of care they receive while convalescing at home or in the community. By providing tailored and optimal pressure relief, the right mattress plays a crucial role in preventing the development of debilitating and painful pressure sores. Introducing the Award-Winning Solutions
This historic award makes three of our leading mattress solutions available to the HSE and the wider public sector. These systems are all manufactured by Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare, a renowned international specialist in pressure area care, reflecting our commitment to partnering with the best in the world.
The three winning solutions are:

A Broader Impact for Public Healthcare
While the tender was initiated for CHO8, a key benefit of this award is that the successful outcome can now be utilised by all other Community Healthcare Organisations (CHOs) across Ireland to meet their own pressure care requirements.
Furthermore, the award facilitates procurement for a comprehensive list of public bodies, including the Defence Forces, An Garda Síochana, the Irish Prison Service, and educational institutions. This represents a significant step forward in standardising access to high-quality patient care equipment across the entire public sector.
